Long question, one assumes that it is an essay question.
There are countless examples of hope. Any sign of preparing for a future are signs of hope; In Auschwitz you can still see in the museum countless pots and pans, and in the grounds; cutlery. These are indicators that the people who packed them were hoping that they would still need to cook and to eat.
It is said that hope was the greatest killer in the Holocaust. The behaviour of most of the victims was the personifiaction of hope. Only when the people gave up hope, were they free to resist.
People behaved and did as they were told because they hoped that if they behaved, then the Germans would be less mean to them. More than that, they even stopped those amongst them who would resist from resisting, in the hope that compliance would serve them better.
It was only when people gave up hope, like in the Warsaw Ghetto, where they knew that they would be going to the gas chambers, that they then resisted.

Bob Hope was not a hero of the Holocaust. He was in no way involved. During this period he worked for the USO providing entertainment and morale boosting shows for the US army, who also had nothing to do with the Holocaust.
