Some adaptations include, opening and closing the stomata in hot and dry weather to prevent losing Carbon Dioxide. Other adaptations include preventing water loss, for example, cuticles were there to provide a waxy layer to prevent dissication, trichomes which are extensions on the leaf epidermis that help to break up the wind and reduce water loss. Another example is the use of lignin, which is used to help support plants against gravity. Last example, is that plants need to avoid being eaten, so one adaptation is by producing poison to avoid being eaten by predators, or something like making you itchy when you touch the plant (poison ivy).
