The two that come to mind are Second Life and There.com. Second life has a large number of users but can be very slow and laggy. There.com doesn't have as many users and there are less options for your avatar but it can be the most fun. It depends on each user which they prefer.

Virtual worlds are NOT bad for kids! The people that interact with your child are probably bad. Some are good, some are bad, but virtual worlds are not bad! Virtual worlds are created by people that want your children, teenagers, and adults to have fun when they are bored, or at any time! Their are many virtual worlds, so don't worry about not finding the one that fits you! Good luck! :) - Sally

There.com and Second Life are fun virtual worlds for adults. Onverse can be a fun virtual world for the younger crowd who aren't old enough to sign up.

hi, I am looking for virtual worlds like that too, I don't know about you but it really pissed me off because all virtual worlds that i have viewed all have to have downloads or you have to install it! :(
Some virtual worlds that do not require an activation are: movie star planet, our world, pixie hollow, and weemee. Although the age for these virtual worlds vary.

I have not found any. There are free adult games that you don't have to download but the free virtual worlds just aren't out there for adults yet witch is a real bummer cause we all know they have them for kids.
