OK make sure it has plenty of water and food. Check both everyday.

Always make sure the bird speaks clearly in bird language of course. (LOL)

If you don't want is flying clip its wings about every 3 to 4 months no often otherwise it will get miserable.

Make sure the bird has a wood stick going from one end of the cage to the other.

And a little spoil to the bird is a mirror.

Best food it all depends on what kind of bird it is..

water can be tap or bottle water

make sure is has distance from kids but to the point the kids can see the bird and the bird can see the kids.

Also importantly show the bird LOVE is very important so it doesn't feel at all left out.
