I foster kittens and I LOVE it! I would recommend it to anyone who is home a lot and willing to spend a LOT of time with the kittens, socializing them and stuff. The animal shelter I foster from (Denver Dumb Friends League) gives me all the stuff I need to foster the kittens, such as: litter, litter box, food, toys, etc. etc. It is a very, very rewarding thing to do. At my shelter you can foster any pets if your age 12+
If you want to foster a kitten from the RSPCA, then you can call this phone number: 6287 8100 or their website is: rspca.org.au
Contact your local animal shelter and see if they have a foster program. If not, ask about who does. Usually animal shelters will have foster programs. Mine has Junior foster parent program for kids 12+

Yes the kitten will die as it needs mother's milk or formula from the vet and will have to be bottle fed by the owner. It's not uncommon for other female cats or dogs who have had a litter to nurse a new born kitten. If this isn't possible please take your kitten into the vets for a good checkup and formula. You will have to feed the kitten often during the day and night and if you aren't able to do this or take on the responsibility then let the vet know this and either they will or find a foster home where the foster care worker will do it.
