Opera News is the best known. It is available at the Jersey City Public Library and has a (generally) good balance of current opera events(as News implies) and historical articles on costumes, famous singers of the past, and so on. It is a commercial magazine so one has to wade through ads for banks and finance companies and similar sponsors a la Tv. Originally the magazine was much smaller, about 5X7 and did not have advertising other than opera=themed ( Classical record stores, for example, stereo equipment) It"s the only American opera Magazine I am aware of, and as stated is available in regular library reference rooms.
Magazines which offer in depth stories soap operas which air on CBS are 'Soap Opera Digest' and 'Soap Opera World'. Other magazines are 'All About Soap' and 'Soap Life'.
