Savannas are always in warm climate while temperate grasslands are in warm and cold climate!
The Savanna's have several rivers that provide water sources. Some of these rivers are, Queensland river, Mitchell river, and the Gregory river.
The rainy season in West Africa generally falls from the end of April - July and again in September/October. The rainfall varies and can even miss an area leading to drought.
Tropical Savanna is usually wet during the summer due to the northward movement of the ITCZ in the planetary wind. and usually very dry near winter due to southward movement of subtropical High (Horse Lattitude) Annual rainfall ammount is from 500-1500mm, and most of the rainfall is concentrated 6 to 8 month of the year. Therefore Savanna is both dry and wet. Completely depended on Season.

There is no 'savanna desert.' The savanna is a distinct biome, a semiarid grassland, and not a desert.. It receives too much rainfall to be considered a desert.
Rainfall in savanna regions is seasonal, the rainfall is concentrated in six or eight months of the year, followed by a long period of drought when fires can occur. Thus some months will have no rain and other will have lots of rain. On average the rainfall amounts to between 50.8 to 127 cm (20-50 inches) per year.
The savanna is a separate biome and not a desert. It receives more rainfall than a desert.
