This is a sign that your rabbit is sick. There are many possible reasons why this is happening. No matter what the reason, your rabbit is now in very serious danger: a rabbit that isn't eating will develop GI stasis, and this can kill your rabbit within a day or two. Your rabbit needs immediate veterinary attention! See the related questions below for details and helpful links.

Well, it could mean that they are constepated or something. Something that they ate is usually the cause. Something that got jammed up in their intestines or digestive system. It could be an infection where it hurts to poop also.

Can a baby rabbit be given milk after eating tomato?

No, you'd only make the rabbit more sick. Rabbits can't digest milk or dairy products. They shouldn't even really have the yoghurt drops you can buy at the pet store. If your rabbit is sick, you have to bring it to a vet who has experience treating rabbits.Tomato (the fruit) is high in sugar, so it can make a rabbit sick if the bunny eats too much. A sugar spike can lead to gas, which is very painful for rabbits and sometimes they decide to hide and stop eating. If you can encourage the rabbit to keep eating hay, drinking water, and moving around, then it will be fine. If the rabbit stops eating, drinking, or pooping, then it will go into GI stasis and needs to see a vet right away, or else it will die.The tomato plant (all parts except the fruit) is poisonous for rabbits. If your rabbit is poisoned, it needs to see a vet immediately, there's nothing you can do for it at home.See the related questions below for details and links.

How do you know the rabbit is not feeling well?

If the rabbit is not eating or hasn't pooped in 24 hours, there is a problem. Take him to a rabbit savy vet ASAP. Don't wait 'till tomorrow. He might not have the time. If he seems to be shifting a lot and massaging his belly helps, it could be gas. Or there could be something blocking his digestive track. If he is grinding his teeth loudly or screaming, he is in a lot of pain. Get him to a vet right away.

Why isn't your rabbit eating?

Rabbits stop eating when they're ill or in pain -- even a bit of gas can make them stop eating. Shock can also make them stop eating. A new pet rabbit has recently gone through a big disruption, with lots of newness and changes and anxiety -- a rough, stressful transition can be enough to set rabbits off.Unfortunately, rabbits can't safely fast like humans and other animals can: when rabbits stop eating, they quickly get sick, and it can be an exhausting (and expensive, and painful) process to get them healthy again (with lots of medications, fluids, syringe-feeding, belly massage...) -- and that's not counting whatever it is that made them stop eating to begin with (it could be a serious problem). The first thing you should do if your rabbit isn't eating is get them eating again -- you can worry about the reason why (and what to do about it) later. If you don't know any rabbit first aid, bring the rabbit to a vet immediately. If your usual rabbit-savvy vet is closed, bring them to the nearest 27/4 vet's that sees rabbits. Print off the webpage linked below to give to the vet in case they are unfamiliar with rabbits ("Gastrointestinal Stasis, The Silent Killer" D. Krempels). If you know first aid, treat for gas and dehydration and, if the rabbit is still defecating, syringe-feed; go the rabbit vet's as absolutely soon as possible; go to the emergency vet's if rectal temperature falls below 99 degrees Fahrenheit (37.2 degrees Celsius).See links and related questions below for more details and help.MORE ANSWERSIt is extremely important that your rabbit does not stop eating! Rabbits can't fast for short periods like humans, cats, and dogs can. A rabbit will die within 24 hours after he stops eating! Rabbits may stop eating because they do not feel well, or because they have internal problems, or dental problems -- there could be many reasons. If you rabbit is not eating you must take him to a vet immediately! See the related questions below for more information.
