While you are awake, look at your hands every so often and think "Am I asleep or awake?" By doing this, you are sorting out reality from your dreams. In reality, everything will be clear and will make sense, your hands will look as they always do, etc. If you are asleep, something will be off. If you do this regularly, it will eventually become habit that crosses over into your dreams, thereby allowing you to be able to tell if you are asleep or awake. Lucid dreaming is just spitting distance away now!

Well in lucid dreams, you can usually fly, go through walls, not be able to feel pain, and other things like that. So if you keep trying to fly into a wall and not only fail, but feel pain, then you are most likely to be awake.

What are good times to perform reality checks for lucid dreaming at school?

Unrealistic answer: Try to get sleep before school so you dont have lucid dreaming during classes! Logical Answer: (If i were you)To make sure I wasn't lucid dreaming at school, I would take an object( assuming I was lucid dreaming) and play with it ( spin it, twist it). If the object does things it WOULD NOT NORMALLY DO, something that DEFIES THE BASIC LAWS OF PHYSICAL REALITY (gravity, inertia, speed, time, etc.). Talk to someone next to you at school if you can, see how they respond. USE YOUR INSTINCTS AND KNoWLEDGE OF REALITY. It is very hard to tell when we are dreaming and when we are conscious, science can't even explain the difference! How do you know this world is real, how do I know i'm not asleep? Anyway, we all have the same picture of "true" reality, so use your common sense. Anytime is a good time to do a reality check!!!!!!!!!!! You don't want to wait untill your dream is over and miss all of class! School is hard for everyone, but you have to be constantly alert. That's all that can be said! P.S. : I go to the highest-ranking Massachusetts Middle School(according to boston magazine), so I know what i'm talking about!!!!!!

What questions do you ask to find out if he is lucid?

I'm going to assume you're talking about lucid dreaming, and how to know if someone was really lucid in a dream. IF that's the case, I can tell you this: A lucid dream is normally defined as "knowing that you are dreaming while in a dream", and this definition is a good introduction to the concept. There are, however, various 'levels' of this experience. For example, many of us have had dreams where we may know we are dreaming, but only use this knowledge for convenience (I'm dreaming, so it doesn't matter if i do this). This experience hardly compares to an intentional lucid dream in terms of awareness, attitude, and overall intensity. The former experience is often called a "pre-lucid dream" or sometimes a low-level lucid dream. Even intentional lucid dreams can vary in terms of quality and lucidity, some being vague memories of realizing you're dreaming and then forgetting about it, and others being vivid, emotionally charged experiences of the dream realm. I would say that a lucid dream is an in-dream awareness that is intentional, or at least awakens you to the implications of being aware in a dream (I'm dreaming, so this world around me is not normal reality, so i can do things i normally can't do, etc.) For anyone interested in beginning lucid dreaming practice, please visit my introductory page on the topic at http://www.squidoo.com/getlucid to find some great links and recommendations.

Is there a good place where you could learn about Lucid Dreaming Dreaming Astral Projection?

There are many good places you can learn about these topics, but more importantly there are some really bad places, too. If you come across any website promising "Instant Results" or "The Secret of Lucid Dreaming" or and other such instant gratification fare, please do yourself a favor and stay away. This is especially true if they want your money, asking you to buy a product or e-book or audio track or other gimmicks. Lucid dreaming and Astral projection are natural abilities and all the tips and tricks you need can be found online for free. There are also a number of good books on the subject (for Astral projection I would recommend to works of Robert Bruce, very helpful) My favorite lucid dreaming website has links to many wonderfully helpful pages and books: http://www.squidoo.com/getlucid -Good Luck!

Is lucid dreaming dangerous?

of course not! actually it is best to have lucid dreams. this means your state of mind when sleeping was good, and your soul collected a lot of dream material from the parent world, making it lucid. of course, the dream matters, which means it depends what the dream was. tell me it, and i shall interpret it absolutezero08139@yahoo.com

Was lucid dreaming ever scientifically explored and proven?

YES. The answer is yes. A few decades ago (I don't remember the exact date) Two men independently proved lucid dreaming to be a real phenomenon using very similar methods. One of the men was Stephen Laberge of what is now the Lucidity Institute, and the other I believe was Alan Worseley (but don't quote me on that). They both did experiments where a subject went to sleep intending to have a lucid dream. The subject was hooked up to a machine that measures eye movements, and when he had achieved the lucid dream state he was to use his closed eyes to send a signal (left, right, left, right, very slowly). The eye muscles are one of the only muscles that remain un-paralyzed during REM sleep, so this was a pretty good plan. Both parties were successful in sending/receiving messages from a lucid dream, and lucid dreaming is now a scientifically verified fact. I know my account of it isn't chock full of details, but you can find a full version of Laberge's experiment at www.lucidity.com, with graphs and big words and everything. I had a dream and in it I realized I am dreaming and I said it in my dream I was only able to control what I said not what I did or what happened in the dream Why?

To avoid this crazy run-on sentence nonsense and for future reference, this is called a "Lucid Dream". For some people, achieving full lucidity is difficult and may take a few tries before one can really "master" it. --------------------------------------------- From Asker ----------------------------------- I'm aware, I use grammar quite a lot, and I kinda ran out of space, in the full thing, I had explained that it was a Lucid dream, and 'What the heck, Semi-Lucid?' ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ah, then I apologize for any misunderstanding. Just keep triggering the lucidity until you can control your actions as well. Just like anything, lucid dreaming takes practice to get good at.

People can control the content of their dream?

Generally, no, most people cannot control the content of dreams. Dreams are produced by the subconscious mind, for the purpose of sifting through thoughts, experiences and emotions while the conscious mind rests. Learning to control one's dreams requires imposing the conscious mind on a function that belongs to the subconscious. Most people simply cannot do this, while others learn partial control in "lucid dreaming." Even so, lucid dreaming is only partial control. yes, through lucid dreaming. but it is very annoying to do all the time. IT is fun, but after a while you might want the dream world to go back to its surprises.

Can you control the outcome of your dreams?

Yes. As soon as you become aware that you are dreaming you can start controlling the dream. However, you wont be able to control everything, your subconsious will just have to share with you. The biggest problem is trying not to wake up as soon as you realize youre dreaming though.

Where can you learn about ESP Intuition Lucid dreaming etc?

Meditation is really helpful to increase general mind power- intuition and ESP both benefit from regular meditation. If you are into Lucid Dreaming, you should try some damiana tea before taking a daytime nap- that's what really helped me- it's really wonderful, I can control my dreams pretty regularly now. I found some tips from a really good online school that my friend is going to- the university of metaphysical sciences. She's been taking courses in all types of stuff. If you're interested, do an online search for information Lucid Dreaming can happen natturally to some people. I never seem to have lucid dreams, but I have heard that if you look at your hand in your dream, you can do everything you want. It has worked for me a few times. I have also heard of a machine that can make sounds of whatever you want, like pigs. When you fall asleep, you will dream about pigs. It seems like it would work, but I've never tried it!
