In a story it first grade in school, its 1st grade. It doesnt matter when you are speaking though.
Shakespeare got the ideas for virtually all of his stories from books he had read. Very few of his plots are original. The Comedy of Errors is based on an old Latin play, for example.
It can have as many plots as you want, but the more you have, the more complicated and harder to read the story will be!

The story of Robin Hood first shows up about 1225 as an oral poem. Since there were no books and people couldn't read a story like Robin Hood was told in rhyme so people could remember it. As time went on the story would change and when books were finally printed it changed with characters added, killed, and setting/plots changed. Since Robin Hood is a fictional character he doesn't die, but changes with the times and the telling of the story.

Shakespeare was a writer, not a story. People do not have plots.
The Diary of a Wimpy Kid books do not really have plots. They just tell the reader about Greg Heffley's miserable life, filled with random yet funny accidents.
