If you're looking for a really scary one:
1. Limbs lying around
2. People dressed up in costumes that will actually make you get scared
3. Some sort of quiet background music that has a creepy edge to it (Selena Gomez's "Trust in me" song is very creepy. You can look it up on YouTube than download it onto your computer by googling youtube converter and copying the URL of the video)
4. You need to have some sort of fake flames and someone screaming in the background (VERY SCARY)
5. Have someone jump out and say "HELP ME!" (They need to look terrible. Like they just got hit by a car.)
6. Obviously have cool decorations
7. Have a witch with a crystal ball
8. Some people need to hide behind stuff and then scream and chase the victims to the haunted house exit (obviously this is the grand finale)
9. Have those air blowers and come up behind people and blow
10. I don't know if you have these where you live but there are these plants that grow in trees that drop and look like brains. If you painted those purple red they would be kind of creepy.
