I reckon that Blanket will be a good name for male appaloosa with a white bum
and Naira for a female
Tennessee Walking horse quarta horses appaloosa
it matters on the horses, some could have as little as five and others can have hundreds
Horses in slaughterhouses do not have names anymore.
The appaloosa breed cannot run fast as the thoroughbred wich can reach up to 40mph. so the appaloosa would run 20-30 mph
For some horses these names wouldn't work, but I'll give you my favorites. * Sunshine U.S.A * Blue Grass * Sailor * Dr. Pepper * Man o' War Jr. * Twilight There are some.... Sorta crazy but good names!
a white spot under their lip, in their ear and/or under their tail. some horses are spotted some are not. their disposition is offten very stubborn! look me up: ThoroughbredLover, and i own an appaloosa mare who is regestered but is a chestnut color with not obvious spots!

The American Appaloosa is now considered a purebred and therefore only two approved, registered, and DNA tested Appaloosas can produce and appaloosa foal. However some registries may only go by color, so any two horses that produce and appaloosa or 'leopard' patterned foal could 'create' an appaloosa. In the past before the ApHC (Appaloosa Horse Club) was founded, a handful of people decided to save the old Nez Perce indian pony, which carried the leopard complex gene responsible for the spotted coloring of the Appaloosa. The US cavalry had destroyed most of the tribes purebred horses and bred the remaining ones with large, slow draft horses. The people added Thoroughbred, Quarter horse and Arabians to a degree to lighten up the now draft like breed and to 'modernize' it for ranch work and circus shows.
Majority of appalooosa horses are found across North America, from probably some parts of Mexico all the way up to Canada.
Depends on what you train an Appy for. They can be good cow-horses, trail-riding horses, show-jumping horses, rodeo horses for bronc riding, bare-back, calf roping, barrel racing, steer wrestling, etc., therapy horses, for riding lessons, or pleasure riding for your own sake, if you have your own appaloosa.

The distinctive look of the original Appaloosa was the product of breeding by the Native Americans in the North West. The breed itself was created there. The genetics for the various spotting patterns may have been part of the gene pool of the original Spanish horses that were released/escaped to become a feral population since the Leopard complex gene exists in some European breeds of horses.
