one hundred years in solitude by Gabriel Garcia
I thought it would be short for "Melquiades," the name of a character in Garcia Marquez' book, "One Hundred Years of Solitude" (great book, btw), but all sources I've seen online seem to indicate that "Melky" is his given name. Odd, I know.
hmmm... not an easy one to answer- its an unusual book. It has a dreamlike quality to it and reads like an allegory. Essentially it is the story of a family-different individuals, how they interact and events that involve them- over a period of one hundred years. The author mixes the mundane with the sublime in a pleasing, memorable way Its a good read- strange and haunting- i hope you like it.

i dont know get a book
It depends on how good your Spanish is. If you can read it easily, then yes, you should. If not, then read it in your native language translation. It's usually a good idea to read something in its original language, but if it's going to be a pain and get in the way, don't bother. A lot of people read it in English, and like it just fine.
