This tradition is believed to be obtain by far Eastern Culture such as China, Japan and Vetnam because the age of 20 is the traditional coming of age to those cultures by the Chinese celebreating a man's Guan Li at 20, the Japanese celebreating a man's Seijin no Hi (coming of age day) to celebrating his Seijin-Shiki (coming of age ceremony) at age 20 and the Vetnamese just celebreating the mayority of age at the age of 20.A Chinese-Dominican guy wanted to celebrate his birthday in a Big Bash similar to a girl's Quinceanera but without the girly stuff, his parents said no way that's for girls. The guy was thinking that it wasn't fair for guys that girls get the Big Bash and guys don't. He also took in consideration that a boy becomes a man and they should have a coming of age or a rite of passage (a party) to those who wanted to. Since the date of 20 years of a man's life it's important to some Dominicans because they consider it that his actual teenage years are over. So he started this cool tradition of a new Milestone party with his friends for guys (of any ethety) that wanted a coming of age party and that was the Suerte Vente (in English translate is "Lucky 20). It's a brand new tradition, so it's rarely commented about. The only tradition is to simply ware something gold (socks, top, hat, ring, etc.) for good luck. Since he has a Chinise background gold and red are the colors considered lucky to this party.Cool themes for guys are applied to Suerte Vente like: Casino Party, Billiard Party, Mob Party, Pool Party, BBQ Party, Foam Party, Night Club Party or simply just a Big Bash. Sometimes the friends of the Suerte Vente guy get's them a stripper (I'm not saying that's part of the tradition). For all these reasons (drinking, gambling, strippers and maybe smoke) some Chinese-American (Japanese-American guys and Vetanmese-American guys) guys celebrate what they call Lucky 21 so they can legally do all the this kind of stuff but these are very uncommen among Americans because it hasen't had a popularity.Some people even relate that girls have Quinceanera Parties or Sweet Sixteens like if it where there wedding while guys have Suerte Vente Parties like if it where there "Bachelor Party" in ways that both celebretions are alike to there adult versions of a wedding and a bachelor party.Some people say that it's extra luck that if you where born on a 20th your Suerte Vente will be extra lucky. Some of my friends actually where born a 20th and in there Suerte Ventethere parents got him a super cool car or even got his own apartment or condo. Personally I call people who's 20th Birthday is in the 20th day of a month get the Golden Luck, I mean something extra good happens, like a cool gift or something, that parents actually take in consideration for some reason.So come on guys don't you wanna have a Suerte Vente or Lucky 21 it's a Bachelor Party without a Wedding on the next day so get your friends into it and just have a bash the point is to celebreate that your now a grown man and have fun!

Most of the people in modern Society have there 1st Birthdays, Jew girls have a Bat Mitzvahs when there 12, Jew guys have Bar Mitzvahs when there 13 as a rite of passage, Hispanic girls have Quinceanera Parties like if it where there wedding, American girls have Sweet Sixteen Paties like if it where a wedding too. Guys have Suerte Vente Parties to show society there change from teenage boy to an adult man (coming of age). A "Suerte Vente" is just another Milestone party when a teenage boy changes in status from youth to adulthood as a coming of age party. This tradition is brand new and hasn't be popular for the moment. But it has been some sort of a trend in Oriental-Dominican boys (Chinese-Dominican, Japanese-Dominican and Vetnamese-Dominican) because of there traditions of Guan Li (Chinise coming of age of a man), Seijin-Shiki (Japanese coming of age ceremony of a man) and the mayority of age of a Vetnamese man. All these traditions are held on the 20th birthday of a man.
