A Republic is not a monarchy, it does not have a king. Several republics were formed when a monarchy was overthrown. The Roman Republic was one such case. They got rid of the kings
The phrasing is unclear. The form of government which preceded the Roman Republic was the Roman Monarchy. The Republic was followed by rule by emperors. However, the Republic did not pass this on to future civilisations because: 1) it was the collapse of the Republic, rather than some sort of handover; 2) no future civilisation tried to replicate Rome's period of rule by emperors or, for that matter, the Roman Monarchy.
There were three governments in Ancient Rome: there was the Roman monarchy, the Roman Republic, and the Roman Empire. The Roman Monarchy (753 BC--509 BC) was your average monarchy. The Roman Republic (509 BC--27 BC) was a Representative form of government. The Roman Empire (27 BC-AD 476) formed when the Roman Republic was removed (some accounts claim by Julius Caesar).
An elective monarchy until -510, a plutocratic republic until -27, a variable monarchy for some time after

the u.s. can: •vote • has a senate as the roman republic did too
Rome developed from several city states and were eventually unifed into a monarchy. At the time of its founding a senate was established which held few powers under the monarchy. In 509 BC the monarchy was overthrown and the Senate established the Roman Republic until its downfall some 450 years later, when it was restructured into an Empire.
1.the roman republic had a legisletura that included a senate and two assemblies. 2.all citizens were not equalin the roman republic. 3.another idea firmly established in the roman republic was the rule of law.
The Romans had three systems of government at three different times. At first it was the monarchy when they were ruled by kings. Next came the republic when they were ruled by consensus. The third type of government was the principate (which some people erroneously call the empire). The principate kept the outward appearance of the republic, but was in fact, ruled by one individual. The Romans had three systems of government at three different times. A republic is a nation that is not a monarchy (like the United States). In 1947, India became independent from the UK, but decided to keep the King of the UK as their monarch. This made the nation a monarchy. In 1950, the Government decided to become a republic (in other words, drop the Monarchy and become a nation without a king).
some thought it was good and some thought it was bad, most rich people liked the roman republic.
Roman Catholic is the main one.
It was only a minority of senators who were unhappy with Caesar's growing power. Caesar had filled the senate with his supporters. These senators thought that Caesar wanted to become a king and bring the Roman Republic to an end. They equated a king with tyranny. The Republic had been created some 500 years earlier when the last king of the Roman monarchy was deposed in a rebellion because he was a tyrant. The Romans decided to abolish the monarchy and established the Republic whose purpose was to prevent the return of tyranny and preserve liberty. Thus they felt that Caesar was a threat to the Republic and the liberty which was associated with it and a man who wanted to become a tyrannical king.
