If by "minor things" you mean "less well-known things", you might consider Shakespeare's poetry apart from the one or two well-known sonnets, or the plays Pericles, Timon of Athens, Henry VIII, King John, the Two Noble Kinsmen, Troilus and Cressidaor Cymbeline.

However, changing times mean changing tastes. There was a time when Shakespeare's best-known works were Venus and Adonis and Titus Andronicus. There was another time when people thought of King John as one of Shakespeare's better-known plays.

What is Shakespeare based on?

I think you are labouring under the misapprehension that William Shakespeare wrote one thing. He didn't. He wrote many things, some of which are not based on anything, and others are based on classical stories, history, myth, other plays, and even current events. Although people sometimes use the word "Shakespeare" to describe all or some of Shakespeare's works, its use in this context is incorrect. Shakespeare is the man's name; if you want to talk about his works, use their names.
