When traveling with kids, the main disadvantage to choosing airplanes as transportation is there is no way out. Once you are on the plane, you are stuck in that situation for the length of the flight, whereas when traveling by car you can stop for breaks, exercise etc. But the advantages of going farther faster and seeing the world with kids far outweigh the challenges. With a little planning and determination, traveling with kids on an airplane is doable and rewarding.
