First, head gaskets are not rebuilt. They are replaced and on V6's and V8's they must be replaced in pairs. If properly installed, the engine will be as good as new(that is if everything else with the engine is ok.
The only bad thing would be is if some hack did the job and cut corners.
blown head gasket, cylinder head not torqued to specs. cracked/warped cylinder head.those are some causes.
In some cases, a car with a blown head gasket can be driven. However, it can lead to some bigger car problems down the line.
Some people fog new or rebuilt parts using 2 cycle fogging agent.
Blown head gasket
I don't understand the question. Seems to be missing some words. You need to replace the head gasket if it is bad or if the head is coming off for another purpose.
I have a 1999 jeep 4.0 . I usually work on my own vehicles . When the head gasket went I purchased the gasket , some brake and carb cleaner . Remove the head , clean reinstall new head gasket . I used a belt sander to clean the surface of the old head . Total cost $96 and about 10 hours of time
A cracked block means that the engine itself is cracked. A blown head-gasket means that the gasket between the engine and the head has blown. Either can be caused by overheating the engine. When an engine overheats the head can warp causing the head-gasket to give out. In some engines the heat cracks the block. If the block is cracked, it's over. If the head-gasket is blown you can always machine the head surface and put it all back together.
White smoke coming from the exhaust is a sign of a bad head gasket. There are some products that you can try for a blown head gasket but they are only good for small leaks. You will probably have to remove the head and replace the head gasket.
If fumes are coming into a car it is most likely not going to be coming from a head gasket. The more likely places will be a blown exhaust gasket, exhaust doughnut, or some other type of exhaust leak.
no. depending on how long the car was driven with a blown head gasket some serious metal on metal warping could have occured if are trying to buy a used car for cheap that had a blown head gasket i wouldn't recommend however if its your car that has the blown gasket take it to the shop very easy to fix
head gasket - means major over haul
The only real option is to have the head gasket replaced. Do not pour some kind of 'miracle' sealant into your engine, because it will seal up oil passages, and the water jacket, as well as temporarily fixing your head gasket leak. The head gasket will start to leak again after a bit, no matter what you put in the engine. Having the head gasket replaced will cost around 500 dollars, unless there are problems, like the head being warped.
