Was Galileo important?

Yes Galileo was very important, because if he wasn't born than we might not even now about the stars, the planets, the moon, or even about the universe. And why is that? That is because Galileo was the one whom discovered it. Galileo was also the one whom "invented" science, math, and other great things we now do in school today. Galileo was the one whom invented the telescope, the thermometer, and other great and useful things that we use in our every day lives.

How might the ancient Greek philosopher Plato a medieval scholar at Oxford and the Italian scientist Galileo have differed in the importance each placed on the role of rational processes observations?

Plato placed great importance on rational processes and believed that knowledge could be attained through reasoning and logic. Medieval scholars at Oxford, heavily influenced by Plato, also valued the role of rationality but often relied on religious teachings as a source of knowledge. On the other hand, Galileo emphasized the importance of observations and empirical evidence, challenging traditional beliefs and relying on direct observations to form his scientific theories.

How do you tell how hot or cold something is?

use a thermometer. We can feel how hot or cold something is. However, sometimes things are just too hot or cold for us to feel safely. At other times we need to know exactly how hot or cold something is. When we need to measure temperature correctly we need to use an instrument called a thermometer. This measures temperature in degrees Celsius [sometimes called centigrade] or degrees Fahrenheit. There are different types of thermometers for different situations. A medical thermometer, for example, needs to be very accurate. It measures in fractions of degrees. When we are ill, even tiny changes in temperature are important. Some thermometers use a liquid that moves up a very fine glass tube. Most room thermometers, and outdoor thermometers are like this. The liquid is either mercury [ which is poisonous] or coloured alcohol. As liquids get warmer they expand [get bigger], and move up the tube. Water expands too, but not as much as alcohol and mercury. Thermometers that might be used by small children are not made of glass. They use a digital display which lights up the temperature. Inside the displays are chemicals that change colour according to the temperature.

What might happened to the thermometer if you put in boiling water after taken out of freezer?

There will be a sudden change in temperature and it is likely that the thermometer may even break.

What is the purpose of a temperature gauge?

To measure temperature. A gauge can be used instead of a thermometer, and is generally used in industry where a thermometer might be too fragile

controlled experiment and observations..i might be wrong

What might you use to help you make observations?

A notebook to write them down in.

Why might your thermometer not give an accurate?

Because of where it is positoned. If you wanted to know the room temperature, but the thermometer was in a place where it is cold, it may not give the correct value.

Are there anythings like sick-meters?
