Fun note: It is illegal to sell any type of turtle that is native to Indiana this is to protect the turtles. Indiana native turtles include:red-eared sliders, painted turtles, map turtles, common snapping turtles, and box turtles.

In addition the FDA prohibits selling baby turtles or turtles with less than a 4 inch tail to prevent spreading Salmonella bacteria.
