A notebook is far lighter than a laptop but usually has a slower processor as well. Notebooks don't usually have a CD drive whereas laptops do, but you are able to attach one via a USB port.
As far as I know, a laptop and a notebook are essentially the same thing. Some companies may have a difference, but the industry uses the terms interchangeably.
I have bought one 400mhz pc3200, it has a cut at a difference location on the stick. It wouldn't fit on my pc2700 333mhz slots on my laptop.
A mini notebook is not for everyone, it depends on the buyers personality and reason for use. A mini notebook is easy to carry around and fits a lot less data than a regular laptop.
No much of the difference, It all depends on the LCD panel that the manufacturer decides to use. Just like there are all different laptop keyboard designs or all different laptop casing designs. One is meant to be wide screen the other is meant to copy a desktop monitor. No real difference!
