Before going any further, I should note that the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages.

But to answer the specific question, some disadvantages include:

  • Easier for viruses and other malware to spread.
    • Easier to hack into computers - this can often be done remotely.
    • More likely for employees to waste company time with non-job-related stuff (facebook, porn, sports pages, etc.).
