One of the most important parts of the respiratory system are little tiny pockets called alveoli. This is where the actual exchange of gases occurs. Without millions of these little tiny pockets exchange would be difficult. Many people have problems with this and often have breathing problems. Of course the rest of the system is important which includes the trachea, the bronchi, the bronchioles, and again the alveoli.
