Drinking in your own house and then being asked by a police officer to step outside and then being arrestted for public intoxication. Riding with someone who is drinking and driving and getting arrestted for riding with them and not reporting it. ( South Carolina- had both happen to friends of mine.)
Disorderly Conduct.

For serious crimes, a juvenile can sometimes be tried as an adult. The jail will not put a juvenile offender in a cell with an adult offender.
People were hanged for many crimes. For lesser crimes, especially theological ones, they could be sentenced to perform public penance. Traitors were hung, drawn and quartered, or sometimes beheaded. If you failed to pay your debts, you could be put in jail. People were also put in jail for other things--like putting on a play that offended the monarch.
The length of time a person can be put in jail depends on the severity of the crime committed. Sentences can range from days or months for minor offenses to years or even life for more serious crimes. Each case is unique and subject to the laws and sentencing guidelines of the jurisdiction where the crime was committed.
