A DAT or Digital Auto Tape recorder can be used in many different ways. Lawyers and therapists sometimes use them to record sessions so that no details are missed as do police officers. Some other uses are personal like using it to record college lectures. The reasons are all the same though, to make sure one has all the information being presented in a vocal situation.

No you cannot. A regular cassette player uses analog technology to pick up, analyse, convert and play analog sounds. DAT stands for Digital Audio Tape. DAT format is digital and uses 1s and 0s like a computer hard drive. The analog cassette will not be able to get any meaningful information from a DAT tape. So i need to buy a special DAT player to play DAT's?
