Essential oils have been used for centuries. They are used to treat various ailments in several ways.

Aromatherapy - in which the person inhales the oils via a defuser.

Massage - in which the essential oil is sometimes blended with other essential oils, then diluted with a good quality carrier oil, and applied to the skin as part of the massage.

Essential oils are added to cosmetics, and perfumes for the pure pleasure of their aroma, or for the benefits they can bring to the skin, and /or mind.
