No. It is against international law (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. COPPA for short) for children under 13 to sign up for websites such as social networks.
everloop
it depends if your facebook profile is private or not id not let children under 15 go on facebook without having a private page.According to Facebook community guidelines, one should be at least 13 to access facebook.
No, facebook is never right for children under 15. The suitable age would be more around the highschool ages.
There aren't any social network websites for under 13's. You and your friends could download MSN and chat to each other on there.
no there not allowed
No, but you can change your birthdate so you are over 18.
Yes, you do. Because they assume that children under 14 don't understand privacy policy on facebook and how to protect themselves.
it depends how old the chldren are if they are under the age of 13 then they shouldn't have it .
i think it is just because it is an age where you are more responsible (and of course you are a teenager) but also becauseit is very lame for the 12 yr olds like me who is waiting for just over 2 weeks!
It has to do with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA). Facebook, along with most other US based websites, do not allow those under the age of thirteen to register with them as the information collected from them must be secured in a different manner from those over thirteen. Information can be given out but permission has be to received from a parent or guardian. Many sites choose simply to ban under thirteen's due to the legal issues it may present.
