One of the popular log bed design is called the post design. As a rustic creation, the log bed may be designed in a simple way or to one's wishes and taste.

Log furniture is great in a child’s room for several reasons; it is pretty indestructible, because it is so sturdy it cannot fall on a child like flimsier pieces and the rustic design is something that appeals to children. Start by purchasing a log bed for the room. These can come in woods such as aspen, pine and birch. Log beds for kids come in twin-size beds, bunk beds and canopy beds. The styles of beds vary for each type of bed as well. Twin beds can come with plain logs, carved logs, a headboard or no headboard. Log bunk beds can come as two twins, a twin and a full, a loft with a desk and other variations. A canopy log bed can come with thick logs or thin logs. After the hard decision has been made as to the type of bed, it is time to choose bedding which brings hundreds of more choices. The next purchase might be a log table and chair set which comes kid-sized. This table is rustic-looking and quite roomy. Four upright logs come with the table to be used as chairs. The table is roomy enough for homework, crafts or putting together a puzzle. With four good-sized logs to sit on everyone can join in. Another option for a table and chairs is a kid-sized log Adirondack chair set with a small log table in between. This would be good to read at or watch television but the table is not roomy enough for homework or crafts. A log bookshelf would enhance the room as well as give a place for books, small toys, crafts and knick-knacks. These are thick enough so that parents can put hooks into the side and the child can hang things such as necklaces, clothes or baseball hats. The shelves are often deeper than regular bookcases so bins fit into them nicely as well. Other log pieces for children include a toy box, a coat rack (which holds more than coats for kids, things such as dress-up clothes, purses and feather boas) and a bench. Log furniture is very versatile and both girls and boys love it.
There are quite a few companies that build log homes or cabins. Some really popular ones are Fortrest, Beautifully Wooden and Forest Homes. All offer beautiful homes.
