What are good things about animal testing?

Animals are built with the same basic parts as humans so scientists can test whether medicines and chemicals are harmful or safe before the risk the lives of humans.

Animals are in abundance, so scientists can perform larger numbers of tests that could be done on people at a cheaper price.

Life saving drugs are tested on animals and it is a fact that the white rat has saved more lives than the calling of 911.

Without animal testing, the cure for polio would not exist. Neither would successful blood transfusions or organ trasplants. Diabetics would suffer or die.

In some cases, animal testin IS cruel, but it would be more cruel to test new drugs on little children or to let people die because there is not enough information about a drug.

Animal rights campaigners say we don't need new test, because we have enough information already. We wouldn't have that information without animal tests and many new infections that need to be treated appear each year.

Testing on animals is NOT a good thing. Simple reason is because it doesn't work. The only reason animals are being tested on is because they are cheaper, and labs do not want to experiment on humans as they'd have a risk of dying or 'suing'. Many people are now donating their bodies to science when they die - to experiment on them.

If you think about it, how can a mouse or a rat be the same as a human? They are obviously going to have a different reaction to drugs and experiments, therefore resulting in a - 'non result'. Lets face it - there is still NO cure for cancer

, AIDS, HIV, and many more illnesses and diseases. From my own personal researcj, animal experimentation is not accurate and therefore does not work. So no, animal testing is by far NOT a good thing and causes an inhumane amount of pain on innocent animals around the globe.

Also animal testing is good because it will help us find cures for stuff and we cant do it on humans. i don't get it to complicated

The bottom line is its either them or us!
so its the lesser of two evils really. Animal testing allows scientists to research cures, and even diagnose certain conditions which are invaluable to modern medicine. It may seem cruel to use animals in this way by injecting them with X, Y, or Z, but if at the end of it they help cure/mannage and even understand certain conditions, it better than the alternative than just testing unfounded hypothesis out on humans living with or even without the conditions.

There are not many good things about animal testing. It results in animals experiencing severe pain and torture for the sake of cosmetic products and other trivial items. However, medical testing on animals does help drugs get approved for people. This is literally the only upside.

The main advantage to animal testing is that we can study the effects of a certain drug or product on non-human subjects so that no human is subjected to anything that is potentially deadly. Also, subject animals are readily available whereas human subjects require more work finding and preparing for eperimentation.
