There several ways to avoid a tsunami.
1.Don't live too close to the sea.
2.If you're down at the beach you can always watch the waves. If bubbles start to rise or the sea goes back a lot, it's a good idea to run!
3.If a tsunami is coming for you, run up a hill if there's a nearby one.
4.You can also try to escape in a vehicle if have one close.
5.The biggest wave of the tsunami is usually the third or fourth wave, so keep on running!
6.If you are in a building, run to the top.
7.If a strong earthquake happens out sea, keep watch of a tsunami.
8.If you are on a boat out sea, put on a life jacket and hold on to the boat.
Avoid falling objects then quickly move to a high point in case there is a tsunami.
During a tsunami, stay away from low-lying coastal areas and move to higher ground immediately. Follow evacuation orders issued by authorities and do not return to the coast until it is deemed safe. Avoid bridges, rivers, and areas near the water as they can be dangerous during a tsunami.
The best place to be during a tsunami is on high ground away from the shore. Evacuate immediately if you are in a coastal area and follow local authorities' instructions for safety. Avoid rivers and estuaries that lead to the ocean, as tsunamis can travel inland through these waterways.
You can talk to them about safety...fire safety, how to not talk to strangers, how to avoid being kidnapped, or self defense.
