They may be withdrawn, self harm, gloomy thoughts, not speaking much, maybe sleeping a lot, loss of interest in things they used to enjoy. If you think they are suicidal, get them to a doctors for treatment
Someone killing themselves.
So that you can get appropriate help for the person before they attempt the act ! However - some people exhibit no outward signs before attempting suicide (and I speak from experience !)
OpinionThere is no Bible verse that can make a difference to someone considering suicide. Too many Christians, including quite pious Christians, have committed suicide for the Bible to be a source of help. What your friend needs is understanding and support, evidence that there are those around who would miss him or her, and a reminder that life is worth living. In some cases, it is important to seek help from a health professional.
Sometimes suicidal people will state their suicide plans in an attempt to get help. Others will become withdrawn, avoid family and friends, appear depressed and engage in risky behaviors. A past history of suicide attempts indicated more possible suicide attempts. It's ok to ask someone if they are thinking about suicide and if they have a plan. Most suicidal people actually don't want to die. They want help. So often times a suicidal person will talk about suicide a lot. If they have the means to commit suicide that's a warning sign, such as a lot of pills, a knife, a gun. It's important to let them know that there is help out there for them.

I would call one of the suicide hotlines. They can probably give you some great advice.
Suicide is when someone takes their own life, and assisted suicide is when you help someone take their own life, often when they cannot do it themselves. There may be a few clinics in some parts of the world where someone can walk in, explain the situation and why they feel that way, maybe be given a waiting period, and if they still feel that way, they will help them die.
Some do, some don't. Most who attempt suicide try to give someone a signal that something isn't right with them and that they want to end their life. The majority people don't want to commit suicide they just want a better life, one they enjoy and can tolerate. If you think someone is going to harm themselves or attempt suicide, get them help.
Trick question. If a suicide is unsuccessful, no one dies - therefore - no homicide either. And, yes, "Attempted Suicide" IS a crime on the books in some jurisdictions.
Where to begin well there is cutting yourself (which I do), choking yourself (used to do), beating yourself (again used to), obviously suicide attempts, etc.
