Sometimes suicidal people will state their suicide plans in an attempt to get help. Others will become withdrawn, avoid family and friends, appear depressed and engage in risky behaviors. A past history of suicide attempts indicated more possible suicide attempts. It's ok to ask someone if they are thinking about suicide and if they have a plan. Most suicidal people actually don't want to die. They want help. So often times a suicidal person will talk about suicide a lot. If they have the means to commit suicide that's a warning sign, such as a lot of pills, a knife, a gun. It's important to let them know that there is help out there for them.
Three warning signs to someone who is suicidal are
1. anxiety
2. isolation
3. pain
Loss of interest in things, depression, giving away possessions, making a point of telling someone they love them or nothing at all.
They may be withdrawn, self harm, gloomy thoughts, not speaking much, maybe sleeping a lot, loss of interest in things they used to enjoy. If you think they are suicidal, get them to a doctors for treatment
I recommend talking to someone. If you're trying to identify if someone else is having suicidal thoughts, some signs include 1: Them seeming sad quite often 2: If they talk about death often If you are having these types of thoughts or someone else seems to be, get help for them or yourself. I hope you are doing okay. It'll get better. You may not care about a stranger saying this, but you are loved and needed. If you have gotten out of depression, I'm proud of you.
Depression is a leading factor that contributes to suicidal behavior. Therapy can help one who is depressed.
