They both hold data They are both disc shaped A drive is used to read or write to them The primary difference is the way they hold data. The data on a floppy disc is carried and read magnetically. The data on a CD is recorded and read optically with a laser.
they are floppy disks
NO we have these new things called cd's aka compact disks
CD = compact disk. As opposed to large floppy disks. A disk because it's round. Compact because it'll hold so much more data than a floppy.
hard disks are generally contains within the computer and contain FAR more memory than a floppy disk does. floppy disks generally contain 1.44 mb where as hard drives are constantly developing and are currently about 1TB MAX. floppy disks are external in the same way as CD's
we have to be careful when sharing floppy disks with friends because as you know floppy disks are used for transferring small files between computers it might lead copy of small files and spread of viruses.
Floppy disks.
Most floppy disks will come pre-formatted. All floppy disks need to be formatted to be usable.
Floppy disks were an older technology then diskettes. They were computer storage disks encased in a soft plastic envelope (hence "floppy") that had a bigger diameter than the diskettes which were packaged in a hard plastic cartridge.
Four (4) startup disks are needed to boot Windows 2000 from floppy disks.
Floppy disk has tracks and sectors.
for putting floppy disks in it
You would need 729 floppy disks to hold 1GB of data. This is because:1 gigabyte is equal to 1,073,741,824 bytes1 floppy disk can hold 1,474,560 bytesSo floppy disks per gigabyte is equal to 1,073,741,824 divided by 1,474,560, which is 728.18 disks. This means you would need 729 disks to hold the full 1GB.
