There are over-the-counter products that are marketed specifically for toothache. They come in "branded" and "generic" versions (The active ingredients are identical).
An old remedy was to crush an aspirin, make a thin paste, and put it on the affected area. Not the best tasting, but some swore by it.
Or you can try clove oil. Apply directly on tooth and surrounding gum. Sometimes it takes a couple of applications. It doesn't taste very good, but it should help the pain. You could also add marjoram oil to the clove oil.
Chewing a whole clove can also help.
Salt rinses might work; some have reported a bit of relief using that. Baking soda may also work.

But the best suggestion is to Pay A Visit To A DENTIST as soon as possible if you notice any of the symptoms of tooth abscess. The tooth doctor might recommend antibiotics to cure the infection. Continue your follow-up appointment regardless the pain stops because without a root canal or an extraction, the infection will get back.

∙ 14y agoOrajel! It can help with the pain, and strong aspirin or ib. I recently had to get a root canal and had the worst pain ever right before, so I used a warm towel and placed it on the outside of where it hurt which helped.

∙ 11y agoSome easy ways to get rid of your toothache are to simply soak it in warm saltwater or placing some ground cloves next to the tooth. Another easy way to help is to simply dip a q-tip in brandy, then rub it on the tooth.
