Author Ann Rice has a whole series based on her vampire Lestat. Get Vampire Lestat the first book. Steven King has 2 vampire books, Salem's Lot and Night Flyer.

I think it's just as awesome a Twilight! Also, Vampire Kisses is AWESOME! I don't know what series is my favorite! I'd try one of those.
