Protocells.
American biochemist Sidney Fox in 1992 showed how the first cells may have occured. Fox produced protocells by heating solutions of amino acids. A protocell is a large, ordered structure, enclosed by a membrane, that carries out some life activities, such as growth and division. The first forms of life may have been prokaryotic forms that evolved from a protocell.
The only carbohydrate capable of directly producing energy by cellular respiration is glucose. This is a monosaccharide that contains six carbon molecules that is produced in plants through the process of photosynthesis and in animals it is produced by the metabolism of carbohydrates.

An amoeba is a genus of unicellular protozoa. It is alive because it is capable of reproduction, has metabolism and internal organization.
Chlamydia is a prokaryote or bacteria. Bacteria are living organisms, capable of their own metabolism and reproduction, even though they may infect host cells. Viruses are not alive. They are chemical constructs that require a host cell for metabolism and reproduction. Viruses have many of the same processes found in living cells, but they lack key metabolism and biochemistry that prevents them from functioning outside of a host cell.
Bacteria may have one of two external structures for powered movement: flagella or cilia. Also bacteria are often capable of "flowing" to move by using internal mechanisms.

yes
Protobionts are aggregates of abiotically produced molecules. They are not capable of precise reproduction, but they maintain an internal chemical environment different from their surroundings and exhibit some of the properties associated with life, including metabolism and excitability.

As science defines it, to be living, a thing must be capable of growth, reproduction and metabolism.

The banyan has root structures that look as if they might be capable of walking, but no, the trees do not walk.
At the end of meiosis, haploid cells are produced. These cells need to further develop into mature gametes capable of fertilization, a process called gametogenesis.
The spores produced by Bacillus anthracis, the causative agent of anthrax, are highly resistant and can survive in harsh environmental conditions for long periods. They are usually oval-shaped, have a tough outer layer, and are capable of forming protective structures called endospores. These spores are the infectious form of the bacteria and are responsible for the spread of anthrax.
It was a siege weapon. In addition to being capable of breaking down walls and other structures, it had some real negative affects on morale.
