Service Engine basically means the engine requires scheduled maintenance. Open your owner's manual and it will tell you what service. Normally it means an oil/filter change. If you are referring to the Check Engine Light, then the ECU has detected a problem with the emissions controls. Take it to an experienced professional, like a GM dealer, for proper diagnosis, and repair of the problem with just throwing parts at it. You will be money ahead.

Time for an oil change.
Check the sensor on the brake pedal arm.
Unscrew it from the rear of the light. You may have to take it off to do this.
They may have damaged ur abs sensor. that's how the atc module notices a slip.
