Synthesizers, or synths, are electronic instruments that generate and manipulate sound. They play a crucial role in modern music by creating a wide range of sounds that can be used to enhance and shape the overall sound of a musical composition. Their versatility and ability to mimic traditional instruments or create entirely new sounds make them an essential tool for musicians in shaping the overall sound and mood of a musical composition.
