In practical terms the main elements of Christianity are:

Humilty or Faith and trust in God: "As he entered Caperna-um, a centurion came forward to him, beseeching him and saying, "Lord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home, in terrible distress." And he said to him, "I will come and heal him." But the centurion answered him, "Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof; but only say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I am a man under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to one, 'Go,' and he goes, and to another, 'Come,' and he comes, and to my slave, 'Do this,' and he does it." When Jesus heard him, he marveled, and said to those who followed him, "Truly, I say to you, not even in Israel have I found such faith. I tell you, many will come from east and west and sit at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, while the sons of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness; there men will weep and gnash their teeth." And to the centurion Jesus said, "Go; be it done for you as you have believed." And the servant was healed at that very moment. (Mt 8:5-13)

Prayer: "And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by men. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you. And in praying do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Pray then like this: Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our debts, As we also have forgiven our debtors; And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father also will forgive you; but if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. And when you fast, do not look dismal, like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by men. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by men but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you."(Matthew Ch 6)

Observance of the Law: "And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he (Jesus) answered them well, asked him, "Which commandment is the first of all?" Jesus answered, "The first is, 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' The second is this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."(Mk 12:28-31)

The offering and partaking of sacrifice, various animal and bird offering in the old Law, the Lamb of God in fulfilment of the Law and the prophets: "I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he will live for ever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh." " He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me. This is the bread which came down from heaven, not such as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live for ever." (John Ch 6)

AnswerThere is only one true element to Christianity and it is often buried into a pile of rules, regulations, hypocrisy and other stuff that really doesn't matter unless you have this one element:

and that is a relationship with Jesus Christ - a true, heartfelt relationship.

There are several main tenets of Christianity.

First, there is creation. God created the world, and all that is in it, completely perfect. He created mankind in His image.

Then, there is sin, or the fall. Eve and Adam sinned by disobeying God's commands, and because of that, God inflicted punishment by throwing Adam and Eve from the garden of Eden and cursing the world. Everyone who is born is sinful.

Third, there is the law. God gave the Ten Commandments to Moses, and they show what a good life would be. However, no one can keep the law -- everyone's lied, or sworn, or been jealous. . .the list goes on.

Fourth, there is Christ. Jesus came from heaven and hid His glory inside the body of a man, and lived a perfect life before He died on the cross. He died on the cross and took the sins of all mankind upon His shoulders. He suffered the judgment of God for man's sins. Because of that, if one believes that Christ suffered and died for them, and asks God for forgiveness for their sins, Jesus' righteousness will cover their sins, and they will be saved from eternal damnation.

Last, there is the return. Jesus will return one day, and the world will be destroyed, and those who are righteous will live in heaven forever with Him. Those who are not will be judged for their sins, and will be punished eternally.

The keys components of Christianity are that the maker of the universe created man. Man sinned separating man from God (the maker of the universe). God came as a humble carpenter (Jesus) to die for our sins. Jesus died taking the wrath mankind deserves. On. Be third day Jesus rose from the dead allowing for a relationship with Him. This relationship is how someone receives salvation.
