Followig God's example and what He did.

1. Die

2. Be buried

3. Be resurected

Number one means to die to your sins at an alter of repentance.

Number two means to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ as done and said in Acts 2:38 ( full body emmersion) the cleansing of your sins.

Step 3 means to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost which God hath promised to EVERYONE!!

Another thought:

If all one does is 'hear and believe', nothing will necessarily happen. Even the demons "BELIEVE"(James 2:14+19). More is needed. One must ACT in harmony with what they've heard and believed(James 2:17+26)(Luke 6:46) , and DO what is commanded (James 1:22-25)(1 Peter 1:14-16). We must LIVE what we learn. There are many things that can result if we do this, but three of them are:

1. We will please God (1 Samuel 15:22)(John 3:36) and gain the hope of everlasting life (Matthew 7:21-23).

2. We will be happy (Luke 11:28).

3. We will be persecuted(2 Timothy 3:12)(Matthew 16:24)(John 15:20).
