The Atlantic Ocean is to the west of Ireland and the Irish Sea is to the east. However there are other seas around Ireland. St. George's Channel and The North Channel are at either end of the Irish Sea, and the Celtic Sea is part of the Atlantic, just south of Ireland.

The Celtic Sea to the South. The Irish Sea to the East the Atlantic ocean to the North West and St. George's Channel to the South East.

To the west is the North Atlantic Ocean. To the east the Irish Sea (which includes, from the south, The Celtic Sea, St. George's Channel, through the Irish Sea to the North Channel)
