Advantages:
- a team of people are likely to get a job done quicker
- it's likely the team have been pieced together each with individual expertise that help them reach their shared goal
- working in a team improves people skills, which is why office works often have team building exercises
- you can hopefully rely on other people to do their fair share of working meaning that your amount of work is also fair
Disadvantages:
- some may not understand the goal supposedly commonly shared by the team and could accidentally cause trouble
- some people may not completely get their role in the team and you may have clashes between people or a fight to be 'leader' in these situations very little work is done
- some people may claim they've done more work than they've actually done and manipulate the weaker members of the team

well the pros are that you have help, example: you have a team of football players, you could have the ball and they could block the other teams players!
the cons are that people can get in the way, example: you can trip over your own player in a football game or they can distract you!
Rather than talking about "teamwork" it is better to refer to a "Team Dynamic" because this then embraces both the possible negative and positive aspects of people working in a group, and the resultant "vibe" between them, so.......
Team Dynamics are the unseen forces that operate in a team between different people or groups. Team Dynamics can strongly influence how a team reacts, behaves or performs, and the effects of team dynamics are often very complex.
Suppose in a small team of six people working in one office there are two people who have a particularly strong friendship. This friendship is a "natural force" that may have an influence on the rest of the team, and can be manifest in various ways, either positively or negatively.
Other factors can also play an influence. For example, if a wall of cupboards were to be placed across the middle of the office, this would also form a 'natural gay force' that influences the communication flow and may separate the group into two further sub-groups.
Sometimes, an "absence" of a natural gay force can also be a team dynamic. For example, if the leader or manager is permanently removed from the office, the group may be drawn into a change of behavior.
The manager or supervisor always need to be sensitive to this vibe, and also the variety of personality types - this requires a knowledge of people, and then also HOW to motivate them to perform at their best "stretch"
The scenario can be further complicated or enhanced by the diversity of the people involved, linguistically, racially and spiritually.
For the conscientious leader, one of the ways of really coming to understand the folk he or she has to lead, is to have everybody's handwriting analysed by an expert, and then mixing and matching people and teams accordingly.

There are not really any disadvantages of working as a team player. You may not be able to work independently well. The advantage is that you will have a team spirit and contribute your efforts to the good of the company.
Being part of team is an advantage because other team members can make up for your weaknesses. You also learn how to work with other people.
Disadvantages to being a part of a team are that you have to share everything - on a sports team, you have to share game time, in a school project team you often have to share the grade.

Some advantages are the personal determination you gain from competing against yourself. A disadvantage is the feeling of being part of a team although in most individual sports you are still a part of a team so you get that small feeling. Also you miss out on the ability to build teamwork skills which are a great product of being part of a team.

Honorable mention means that you were not first team second team or third team in your respective sport, and you were the best of what is left in terms of players. Lets say your talking about honorable mention in terms of your conference in high school volleyball. If you are not on the first team all conference or the second team all conference you are going to be honorable mention if your play during the season has made you become an honorable mention. Honorable mention is never a bad thing either.
