Douglas Mawson was the first Australian to reach Antarctica, doing so in 1912.He was originally offered a place on Robert Scott's Terra Nova expedition but turned it down to lead the Australasian Antarctic Expedition of 1911-1914, sailing on the "Aurora".

Depends On What Science Project Your Doing. Just Comment On It And Tell Me What Project Your Doing So I Can Answer.
Generally, tourists go to Antarctica to tour -- it is the most exotic visual landscape on earth.
It depends what you are into! If you're into human history, try doing Amelia Earheart, or Beethoven. If you're into war, try doing the Civil War, or Worldwar 1 or 2. If you're into old civilizations, or landmarks, try doing the history or where you're from. If you're into candy, or old antique things, try doing hershey kisses (which is what I did), or the history or the barbie doll or something. Hope this helped!!!!
