The Secret Circle books are about a girl named Cassie who moves to New Salem with her mother. During the first week of her new school, she discovers that their is a secret within the halls. When the students learn of where Cassie lives, they shun her, but Cassie doesn't understand why. After a mysterious death at the school, Cassie discovers she is a witch and is initiated into "the club," better known as a coven. All members of the coven live on the same road away from "the outsiders" (all other occupants of New Salem). Together Cassie and her new friends must overcome a dark force that is lose in New Salem.
*Keep in mind that this is a short explanation of the first book. The story has so much more that just witchcraft. It has romance, betrayal, friendship, and much more. It is definitely worth reading.
