The largest population of Turkic Muslims in China is the UYGHUR Turkish population, which numbers between 10-15 million Chinese citizens. Other Turkic minorities include the Kazakhs, Dongxian, Kyrgyz, Salars, Ili Turki, Uzbeks, and Bonans. (With the exception of the Kazakhs, which number 1.5 million Chinese citizens, each of these groups has less than 1 million Chinese citizens.)
It is notable that equally as common as the Uyghurs are the Hui Muslims, who are ethnic Han Chinese people who are Muslims (as opposed to being Turkic like the above ethnic groups).
