Depends upon situation and your point of view. For my money advantages of a clapper bridge:
1. More durable than a timber bridge
2. Better looking than a concrete one
3. Easier to maintain than a brick one (eg no mortar to need repointing)
4. Express local tradition, heritage ad skill than any other type of bridge
5. More fun to cross with the kids
