The advantage is that it keeps your memories fresh, regrettably we all forget things over the years that we thought we would always remember - keeping a diary makes that possible.

Keeping a personal diary is useful because it allows a person to reflect on thoughts, feelings and events, and allows a person to organise them. It can also be a record of events, which makes it particularly useful to a person with poor memory (such as myself).

I personally don't see any disadvantages to keeping a personal diary. Yes, someone may find it and use it against you, but as I said there are ways to prevent this from happening. That said, if a person has done something that could result in them being dragged to court, prosecuted and imprisoned then they deserve it and I would applaud the person who had the nerve to admit to invading the person's privacy and bringing them to justice.

The information provided will be biased because it will be from one point of view which is the researcher's point of view. The researcher will only write his opinion and views, this will be unfair on others because they may not agree with the researchers opinions and may have different views on the issues. Interviews Advantages The advantages of this research are you can ask questions to the person you are interviewing there and then. This will provide you with the information you are looking for and will be reliable. Disadvantages The person you are interviewing may not know the answer or may not want to answer it correctly and therefore give you wrong false answers.
