It is , or was prior to the computer era, widely taught in schools, charts were and are posted in reading rooms, learning aids, etc- in the LIbraries. it is as basic to Library science as The Laws of Motion ( Newtonian) and the Periodic Table ( Mendeleev"s works) are to physics and chemistry, in other words it is basic, gospel, code 220 is the Bible, by the way.
