-Local people manage the wood and they rather than large companies, earn an income from it.

-Using the portable saw mic and oxen means that there is no need to clear more forest to build roads for large vehicles.

-Local people do not lose their homes or way of living

-Only selected trees are taken away and the damage to other species is kept to a minimum.
