Using analogue communication from a digital interface requires some kind of converter to convert your digital data into analogue before it can be sent. This data needs to be converted back into digital by the receiver. Hence a larger amount of work needs to be done.
eg: the VGA cable used to connect a PC to a screen is a analogue cable. So all the video signals that are sent out by your PC are converted to analogue first. Hence there is a larger amount of work done. There is also a chance of data being lost during this conversion.
If the source signal and the output signal are digital, then there is no conversion required and resulting work required is less. This also means that the receiver doesn't need to convert this data. Hence work done is less and data loss in conversion is also minimal. Although transmitting digital data over long distances also results in some amount of loss.
eg: video signals transmitted through DVI or HDMI cables are purely digital. A PC or Blu-Ray player connected to a digital screen using any of the above interfaces doesn't need to convert the signal before sending it. Hence data loss is minimal and resulting picture is sharper and accurate.
Following are some advantage of digital communication over analog communication: 1) Digital Communication is more simpler than Analog Communication. 2) Digital Communication is more cheaper than Analog Communication. 3) Digital Communication is more secure than Analog Communication. 4) Digital Communication is more immune to external and noise interference as compared to Analog Communication. 5) Digital information can be saved and retrieved when necessary while it is not possible in analog.
Disadvantage of Analog Communication: 1)Analog Communication systems are costlier than digital communication system. 2)Less Security in Analog Communication 3)More prone to noise interference. Advantage of Analog Communication: 1)Transmission bandwidth required is less. 2)No need of synchronization. Advantage of Digital Communication: 1)Digital Communication systems are simpler and cheaper. 2)Using data encryption only permitted user are allowed to detect the transmitted data. 3)Since in Digital Communication, channel coding is used, therefore a large amount of errors may be detected 4)Since transmitted signal is digital in nature, large amount of noise tolerance may be tolerated Disadvantage of Digital Communication: 1)More transmission bandwidth required. 2)Digital Communication needs synchronization in case of synchronous modulation.
Disadvantage of Analog Communication: 1)Analog Communication systems are costlier than digital communication system. 2)Less Security in Analog Communication 3)More prone to noise interference.
presentation of analog digital hybrid modulation
1)digital modulation can easily detect and correct the noise. where as analog modulation has little complexity 2)security is more in digital modulation 3)digital modulated signal can traverse a long distance compared to analog modulation
An DAC convert digital signal to analog signal i.e Digital to Analog Converter. An ADC convert analog signal to digital signal i.e Analog to Digital Converter.
Analog means continuous transmission of data whereas digital means discrete transmission of data. In analog communications we are transmitting finite amount of data in infinite amount of information. so,there is a possibility of occurrence of noise. where as in digital we are transmitting finite amount of data in finite amount of information. so , out of these two, digital is most efficient.

Analog communication considers infinite amplitude levels. But in digital communication only 2 levels of signal is present.
* Digital signals suffer less interferences than analogue signals. This means that when you listen to a digital signal you won't hear a hissing sound, as within digital signals regenerator circuits are used to clean "noisy" pulses. * Digital signals can be made very short so more pulses can be carried around each second, which means more information can be passed on.
Because I am an analog creature living in an analog world. If I were a computer I would use digital communication. :-/ ?

The advantages of digital radio over analog radio are digital radios get more channels than analog, they are clearer in sound and signal and have more additional features.

You need to make a distinction between analog and digital signals, and analog and digital data. Digital data can be sent on an analog signal by using a modem. Digital data sent on a digital signal is done over a wire using voltage pulses at two or more levels. Digital signals can't travel very far without amplifiers, but analog signals can cover huge distances, such as with satellite communications and even communications with deep space probes.
